SALAWEG works with the Ferme maricole du Grand Large to produce its cultivated kelp Located in Carleton-sur-Mer, in the Gaspé, this family business breeds three species: oysters, blue mussels and scallops.

Fermes Marines du Québec

In order to ensure its supply of seedlings, SALAWEG collaborates with Fermes Marines du Québec inc. Created in 2006, this company, located in Newport, also in the Gaspé, operates in the field of aquaculture and marine biotechnologies. It runs a state-of-the-art shellfish hatchery.

Merinov

MMAFMA collaborates since 2015 with Merinov, the Québec innovation center for fisheries and aquaculture, as part of the OPTIMAL program, whose aim is to promote the establishment of a macroalgae industry in Québec. Merinov has been working for over a decade on the development of seaweed farming in Québec thanks to the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada’s Industrial Research Chair for Colleges in the Conversion of Marine Macroalgae.
